Mr B Blue, (12) was charged today with two counts of negligence after he was found sleeping on the job. During the time he slept it is alleged that the sheep left the paddock where they were supposed to be and wandered onto the meadow. Additionally the dairy herd he had been temporarily in charge of managed to enter the cornfield and destroy the corn by either eating or trampling it. Blue will face court on 15 November 2012.
Mrs Old (69) and Mrs Older (70) have been issued a warning regarding their peaceful tree-top protest. The pair climbed the apple-tree outside the town hall to protest the proposed placement of GST on fresh fruit and vegetables last Thursday. Mrs Older came down from the tree on Friday while Mrs Old descended on Saturday. Both ladies state that they would have remained in the tree for longer however their arthritis was getting too painful to withstand the winter nights.
Kitty Fisher received a reward of $1 for returning Lucy Locket’s pocket. Ms Locket had noticed her pocket was missing after she returned from climbing trees with her brother. When asked she said, “I’m very happy that Kitty returned the pocket, I guess I was just lucky she climbed the same tree as I had”.
Property owners are reminded to keep a look-out for illegal hunters in the area of Reigate. One landowner, who does not wish to be named, has confronted a hunter as he came on the property but was able to turn the hunter away at the gate. However, police remind all landowners that these hunters are armed and can be dangerous. It is best to call the police to deal with the situation.
Police are hunting an alleged sex offender in the city of Perth. It is alleged that George Porgy would accost young women, kiss them until they cried and then escape as soon as anyone came to the woman’s aid. Should anyone know the whereabouts of Porgy police urge them to call CrimeStoppers.
Mr Robin a’Bobbin (59) has been charged with unlawfully killing a crow and possession of an unlicensed weapon. It is alleged that a’Bobbin shot and killed the crow last Wednesday evening in Mr Park’s pasture with a 40-lb bow. a’Bobbin stated in his defence that he was in fact aiming for the pigeon on the branch next to the crow, and pigeons were legal game. He will appear in court on Friday 5th November 2012.
Mr Thomas Tittlemouse (19) is charged with poaching. It is alleged that Tittlemouse was found fishing on Farmer Brown’s land on Monday morning. Farmer Brown claims that his fish stocks have been reduced by 20% due to Tittlemouse’s poaching activities and is claiming costs for restocking his waterways. The case has been remanded to the Magistrate’s Court next month.
Police remind all residents to be careful with their possessions in the wake of a hit-and-run type thievery. A recent theft occurred last Sunday when a Bombay tourist had his pipe stolen by what appeared to be a snipe bird. Naturally the tourist is upset with this theft and asks that locals help police recover his pipe.
Tom Piper (16) is charged with stealing a pig. It is alleged that Piper stole and later ate the pig for dinner. Lawyers will argue that the farmer illegally carried out corporal punishment on Piper and ask for leniency in sentencing.
