Cobweb Sweeper

SKIETOWN: Sky Cleaner’s Incorporated are pleased to announce that the position of ‘Cobweb Sweeper’ has finally been filled. Residents will remember that the last Cobweb Sweeper is still in the process of being retrieved after her basket snagged on a passing comet last year.

In a statement released earlier today Ms Broom said, “It has taken many months to find a suitable replacement for Mrs Duster after her unfortunate accident. It takes a special kind of person to handle commuting to work in a basket which requires being catapulted seventeen times higher than the moon.

The lunar commute is particularly hazardous when the trajectory is intersected by a comet travelling through the solar system, as Mrs Duster found out.

We had hoped to retrieve Mrs Duster in time to keep the production of cobwebs from blocking out the starlight. However, our attempts have been delayed due to the closure of NASA’s space program. While we are negotiating with Russian cosmonauts to mount a rescue effort, it does appear that we will have to wait until the comet returns to this section of the solar system.

In the meantime, Mrs O Woman will be employed on a temporary basis to ensure that the starlight shines as brightly as ever on Earth.”
