Children Gather for Midnight Feast

Magic was in the air on Friday night as the children of Esperance gathered for the annual Midnight Feast. This year’s theme of Magical Creatures saw pixies, fairies, ogres and unicorns parading from the Post Office Square to AdventureLand Park to start the celebrations.
The festivities began with a feast of ‘fairy bread’, ‘pixie punch’, ‘dream-cloud meringes’ and many more magic concoctions prepared and donated by Starry Children’s Diner and Oz Land’s Bakery.
Children were able to enjoy obstacle races and novelty games, including the ogre’s favourite game of ‘Who can whoop the loudest?’ Wizards held children spellbound with magic shows while jugglers entranced them with their skilful juggling of apples and eggs.
Throughout the evening the ‘unicorn’ team from Bandy Creek Stables pulled carts around the grounds from which sprites served various supper treats such as fresh rolls and warm milk.
Organisers said the occasion was a great success and were looking forward to enjoying a long afternoon nap.
